Cyndi Blankinship (Springer)

Cynthia Louise Blankinship was born to Dennis Blankinship and Patsy Lockett Davis on November 8, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas. She grew up in Richardson, Texas and graduated from J.J. Pearce High School a year early in 1973. An avid reader, Cyndi excelled in academics, and her outgoing personality and enthusiasm led her to become a cheerleader. Cyndi also was honored for her outstanding work in theater as a UIL One-Act Play champ.

Upon graduation from Pearce, she moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas. Cyndi received both her Broadcast Journalism degree as well as her Law degree from the University of Texas. Her time in Austin was filled with music, fun, and building lifelong friendships. Cyndi always spoke of Asutin as a place that made her breathe easier and relax deeper than anywhere else on earth.

In 1981, Cyndi began practicing law in the ?Dallas DA's office before moving on to the Collin County DA's office. Her most cherished calling was revealed in 1986 - mama to Jacob Tucker. She then joyfully welcomed Layne Claire in 1989 and became a mom-of-all-trades for several years before returning to work in 2001.

Cyndi enjoyed time with friends, art and creativity, the people of Africa, and her family. She had a passion for justice. Cyndi's love of sports, especially the Texas Longhorns, was infectious. Her life was markedly transformed by the love of Jesus and her desire to serve and love His people. Cyndi invested in helping others find freedom from addiction and "hurts, habits and hang-ups" through Celebrate Recovery (now re:generation).

Cyndi will be remembered by her beloved children Jake Springer and Laynie and Daniel Ogilvie (Witt), her parents Dennis and Patsy Blankinship, sister Deborah Lott and husband Jay (Gracie) and niece Haley Poss and husband Kyle (Charlotte and Annie).

The Ogilvie, Springer, Blankinship, Lott, and Poss families cannot thank you enough for being here today, for your support throughout Cyndi's journey and as they learn to live life without their beloved Cyndi Lou. She would want to be remembered with joy, and we pray that your joy would also be made full as you reflect on her life and ultimately the love of Christ, our Savior.
