Gordon Paul Tracy, age 69, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his home in The Colony, Texas. Gordon was born August 22,1955 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Ronald and Carol Tracy. He served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Venezuela- Caracas Mission from 1974-1976. Gordon met his wife Karen Zimmerman in 9th grade at Sterling Junior High School in 1970 in Sterling, Colorado. They were married on April 26, 1977, in the Salt Lake Temple and raised 5 children.
Gordon worked for over 30 years primarily in computer programming, retiring in October 2023. For decades he served as the pitcher and umpire for his local softball team. He loved playing cards and video games with family and enjoyed going to the movies. His true passion was finding forgotten ancestors through the work of genealogy. Gordon spent his every free moment researching the lives of those who have passed. When he was not recording the history of others, Gordon was cheering on his favorite sports teams including the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Mavericks, and spending time with his family.
Gordon is survived by his children David Tracy, Michelle Robalino-Arcos, Maica Grupp, Jennifer George, Stephanie Brown, his grandchildren Dustin Jr., Darilynn, Destiny, Madison, Darryl, Timothy, Jacob, Zaiden, Scarlett, Cooper, Abel, Olivia, and Luke and his great- granddaughter Adara.
