I recently downsized and had to go through all my old keepsakes. I discovered a stack of weekly themes written for my English teacher (actually at North Jr H.S., but you’ll remember) Dr. Richard Gilman. Each one was labeled with “Guess Who” instead of my name. What a good sport he was to put up with me. He used to correspond and came up for homecoming to his almater, then called North Texas State University, when I was attending. Later we connected on Facebook. He was always supportive of my interest in theatre. Deby (Mitchhart) Childress and I went to Speech and Drama Competitions with Dr. Gilman. He reminded me, years later on FB, that SHE excelled. Haha!!
Deby was one of 4 friends named Debbie; we all numbered them. Debbie Powell was Debbie-2, etc. Those were the days, my friends!
